Aqueous Ions
Our work on fitting FFC NMR dispersion curves from aqueous Mn(II), Fe(III) and Cu(II) systems has been published here. The aqueous Fe(III) and dioxygen work supports the 3-Tau model by describing the “background” relaxation rate in many systems.

Below is an example our new Brownian shell model fit to FFC-NMR experiments for Mn(II) and Fe(III).

Aqueous Mn(II) chloride

The Brownian shell model is the most significant advance in the description of dipolar interactions in aqueous paramagnetic ion system since the 1950’s.

The aqueous Mn(II) dispersion (1mM) is shown with the solid line model fit.
Aqueous Fe(III) chloride

A beta-version of the 3TM software allows Fe(aq) and dioxygen contributions to be added to the fitting process (see Creams and Pastes for examples)

The Fe(aq) dispersion and model fit shown is from a 1mM aqueous Fe(III) solution.

Notice the resonant electronic spin interaction contribution at the highest frequency (ignored for fitting).
