Cement and Plaster
The 3-Tau Model may be applied to cementitious material such as mortar, cement paste and plaster.

Below is a re-analysis of a plaster paster using with the 3TM software “in action”. The second example is extracted from a planned 2023 publication of fits using 3TM to curing cement pastes.

In January 2023, Rusu et al published an article describing the use of the 3TM software to fit to a series of NMRD curves for curing cement pastes.

Please contact DR Relaxo if you are interested in applying the 3-Tau model to cement systems.

Plaster paste

This is a re-analysis of a plaster paste from the work of Jean-Pierre Korb [New J. Phys. 13, 035016 (2011)] in which paramagnetic impurities are absent. The HH model is applied which accounts for interactions between surface and bulk water providing an outstanding fit to the full dispersion curve.
Cement pastes

From: Rusu et al, Molecules, (2023). Relaxation dispersion curves recorded for two cement paste samples during the early hydration: (a) a simple cement paste; (b) cement paste prepared with 2% accelerator. Hydration times are shown. Lines represent the best fits obtained with the 3-Tau model (3TM).

The 3TM fits yield curing rates and detect changes in surface chemistry during curing.
